PRODUCTION AREA
The vineyards are located at about 380 - 420 meters in the municipality of Gaiole in Chianti, set in very complex soils where clay, sandstone, and galestro, together with a marked temperature variation, create ideal conditions for viticulture.
GRAPE VARIETIES
90% Sangiovese – 10% Merlot
TRAINING SYSTEM
Spurred cordon and simple Guyot
WINERY PHILOSOPHY
Our Chianti Classico is conceived as an ambassador of our extraordinary terroir. It is the result of a strict grape selection process, from summer thinning to the final sorting table, to ensure optimal health and ripeness. Harvesting is done by hand, and fermentations are entirely spontaneous, accompanied by gentle daily pump-overs.
AGING
10 months in French oak barriques and tonneaux. The wine is bottled without any fining.
CLIMATIC CONDITIONS
The 2023 vintage was marked by a rainy spring that made agronomic management very challenging, particularly due to strong downy mildew attacks. Nevertheless, the hot and dry summer, timely rains, and the typical day–night temperature variations of our vineyards favored perfect ripening, leading to wines that are fragrant, vibrant, and remarkably complex.
TASTING NOTES
Complex bouquet with notes of sour cherry, wild strawberry, and mulberry. On the palate it shows great structure, and its dense tannic texture and notable freshness ensure a long potential for aging and evolution.
ALCOHOL CONTENT
14.50% abv
