PRODUCTION AREA
The vineyards, organically farmed, are located at approximately 420 meters above sea level in the municipality of Gaiole in Chianti. The vines grow in highly complex soils composed of clay, sandstone, and galestro, combined with a marked diurnal temperature variation — ideal conditions for cultivating Sangiovese.

GRAPE SELECTION
An initial selection takes place at the end of July, during veraison, when approximately 30% of the grape load per vine is removed to improve airflow and support optimal phenolic ripening of the remaining grapes. Two further selections are carried out during harvest: one in the vineyard and one on the sorting table once the grapes arrive at the winery. Our meticulous approach to grape selection, along with the high average age of our vineyards, results in particularly low yields per hectare.
WINERY PHILOSOPHY
Our IGT is intended to be a wine centered on freshness and the conviviality of the drinking occasion — without sacrificing the depth and character typical of our vineyards. Harvesting is done by hand, and fermentation is carried out using only native yeasts, accompanied by daily pumping overs. Sangiovese and Merlot are aged separately in stainless steel vats, enhancing the fresh and fruity notes of both varieties.
The wine was bottled without any fining process, in order to preserve the territorial identity and true characteristics of the grapes.
CLIMATIC CONDITIONS
The 2023 vintage was marked by a rainy spring, which made vineyard management particularly complex — especially due to strong downy mildew attacks, resulting in a production loss of about 50%. Nevertheless, a hot and dry summer, interspersed with timely rainfall and the typical diurnal temperature swings of our vineyards, ensured optimal ripeness and grape health, resulting in wines that are fragrant, vibrant, and impressively complex.
